Un Árbol para vivir

El Árbol para vivir está ubicado en Lecherías, Venezuela y fue diseñado por el arquitecto Fruto Vivas.

Se trata de un edificio formado por módulos residenciales de viviendas multifamiliares, con volúmenes de tres niveles y pasillos intermedios. Está suspendido a 13 metros de altura aproximadamente sobre el suelo, dejando así espacio para zonas comunes y accesos al edificio.

Los volúmenes rectangulares del edificio que parece que flotan unos sobre otros, están apoyados sobre unas columnas escultóricas que se pintaron de azul. En la zona central se presentan dos torres que albergan los ascensores y las escaleras, desde los que se accede a los puentes y pasillos que llevan a los apartamentos. 

Está diseñado para que exista ventilación cruzada, aún cuando las ventanas estén cerradas, ya que los elementos constructivos tienen vanos que permiten que pase el aire a través de ellos. La estructura metálica se levantó formando cubos modulares que se repiten para la distribución interna de las viviendas. Otro aspecto destacable de este edificio es que tanto las tuberías como el cableado eléctrico van por fuera de las paredes, pudiéndose observar desde cualquier punto de vista.

The "Árbol para vivir" building is located in Lecherias, Venezuela and was designed by the architect Fruto Vivas.

It´s a building of multifamily residencial modules, with volumes of three levels and intermediate corridors. Approximately, it is suspended 13 meters of height on the ground, leaving space for common areas and access to the building.

The rectangular volumes of the building, that seem to float over each other, are supported on scuptural columns which are painted blue. In the middle are two towers that house the elevators and stairs, which give access to the bridges and corridors that lead to the apartments.

It is designed to allow cross-ventilation, even when the windows are closed, and the constructive elements have openings that allow air to pass through them. The metal structure rose forming modular cubes that are repeated for the internal distribution of dwellings. Another remarkable aspect of this building is that both pipes and electrical wiring are out of the walls, so they can be seen from any point of view.
