La parcela de 1528 metros cuadrados, donde se construyó la casa, se encuentra en Galapagar, municipio perteneciente a la Comunidad de Madrid.

Para diseñar el proyecto, los arquitectos trataron de no pensar en espacios domésticos. Al contrario, tomaron como referencia grandes obras de ingeniería, nudos de autopista, cambios de sentido.

Su complejidad funcional ofrece la posibilidad de llegar a todos los puntos de la casa a través de dos recorridos distintos que multiplican las posibilidades de uso y disfrute. Tiene forma de "loop", 360º, como las figuras de los patinadores.

La casa se curva generando la mayor cantidad de metros lineales hacia las buenas vistas, se acodala en el paisaje y vuelve sobre si misma completando el giro. Una hilera de ventanas en su lado este ofrece una vista panorámica de la sierra cercana. El grado de intimidad crece conforme aumenta la distancia a los extremos. En el punto medio, una mediateca, aislada, completamente oscura.

Con un único gesto se generan dos maneras de moverse, de descender y de mirar al exterior. Por un lado la casa larga, un movimiento sinuoso, una bajada en rampa, amplios radios de giro tangentes a los retranqueos de la parcela generan una visión panorámica. Por otro lado la casa corta, el atajo en línea recta, escalera de descenso directo y mirada profunda hacia el paisaje.

Una construcción negra por fuera, absorbente, de pizarra, un material específico del lugar impuesto en normativa de estética de la zona. Blanca por dentro, reflectante, genérica, neutra y luminosa, carpintería metálica y baranda transparente. La vida incorpora el color, fuera con la vegetación y dentro con la gente.

The plot of 1528 square meters, where the house was built, is located in Galapagar, a township belonging to the community of Madrid.

To design the project, the architects tried to not think in domestic spaces. On the contrary, they took as reference great works of engineering, knots of highway, direction changes.

Its formal complexity offers the possibility of reaching all points of the house through two different routes, which multiply the possibilities of use and enjoyment. It has the form of a loop, 360º, like the shapes skaters made.

The house is curved, generating the greatest quantity of linear meters towards the good views. It is shored up in the landscape and turns back on itself, completing the revolution. A row of windows on its East side offers a panoramic view of the nearby mountains. The degree of intimacy increases as the distance to the ends increases. At the midpoint, a mediatheque, isolated and completely dark.

With a single gesture two ways of moving are generated: going down and looking outwards. On the one hand the long house, a sinous movement, a descent by ramp and ample turning radio tangential to the setbacks of the plot of land generate a panoramic vision. On the other hand the short house, the quick way, in a straight line, stairs of direct descent and a deep view towards the landscape.

A building that is black outside, absorbent, of slate, a material specific to the location imposed as an aesthetic specification of the area. White inside, reflective, generic, neutral and luminous, metal framework and transparent rail. Life incorporates colour, outside with the vegetation and inside with the people.
