Los forjados unidireccionales son aquellos que se apoyan o unen a la estructura portante a través de los bordes, jácenas y vigas, donde los elementos resistentes van dispuestos en una sola dirección.
Estos forjados están formados por varios elementos: elementos resistentes, los elementos del entrevigado y la chapa de compresión.
Los elementos del entrevigado tienen la misión de aligerar el peso del forjado y la chapa de compresión tiene como función transmitir las cargas a las viguetas.
